Panasonic TX-P42G20

Panasonic has outdone themselves, over the past year, with the number of televisions they have released. The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is one of their higher-end releases this year. This model offers features and extras that many other TVs do not, and it incorporates Panasonic’s NeoPDP Panel. So, with this one TV, you get functionality, design, and even get to save a bit of money with its eco-friendly, power saving technology.

This screen offers full HD capability with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is one of the first plasmas to offer this functionality without a loss in quality or integrity. It is far from obtrusive and would fit nicely in just about any setting. Even the glossy black surrounding gives it a touch of elegance.

Being a high-end television, most would think that it would be a bit harder to set up than other television sets. This is not the case with the TX-P42G20, however. In fact, this TV is almost as easy as plugging it in and sitting down. The combination of an easy to use remote and user interface, you will be up and running in no time at all. And, you won’t even need any outside help to do it.

LCD fans have complained about the coloring on plasma TVs. They are kind of known for coloring issues, mainly that a lot of plasma TVs favors red or green, but not both. The TX-P42G20; however, shows a perfect balance of all colors without a loss of quality.

This being said, some have questioned the black value. However, Panasonic has outdone themselves, yet again. Even with a true balance between the colors, there is no loss in the true black that plasma TVs are known for. Therefore, every scene, dark or bright, becomes even more realistic on the TX-P42G20.

One of the greatest advantages, to this model, is the 600Hz sub-field. This sub-field allows for some of the quickest processing, of frames, of any TV on the market today. Even Sony has not gotten this far; the farthest they have gotten is 200Hz. Not bad, but definitely not up to par with Panasonic.

So, you already know about the technology that you get with the TX-P42G20, but you don’t know about the connectivity options you will have. You will have access to 4-HDMI inputs, 1-Composite and 1-S-Video input, 3-Component Video inputs, a LAN port, and a few other ports. If you are looking for a basic TV, you have found it. If you are looking for that multimedia foundation, here it is.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is a high-range television at a decent price of less than 2k. Not only will it not hit your pocket book, too hard, but it will save you in the overall power consumption that your household is used to (if you’re replacing a TV, that is). The combination of the eco-friendly NeoPDP Panel, other technologies, and connectivity ports gives consumers a TV they can count on for years to come.
