In a digital world where every plasma TV looks the same and shares common features, it’s really important to stand out. And that’s exactly what the Panasonic TX-P42G20 did. Now it’s touted as one of the most in-demand plasma TVs these days. And why not? Within its elegant body are some of the up-to-the-minute technologies bound to grace every home.

The top range Panasonic TX-P42G20 provides everything you could ask for from a plasma screen, and more. The NeoPDP (Plasma Display Panel) technology means you get a brighter screen, almost approaching the levels produced by the newest LCD TVs, and the inky blackness levels produced with the new Real Black Drive system provide the perfect background for the impressively vivid color display. The native contrast ratio is 40,000 to one, which means that the brightest white shown is 40,000 times brighter than the darkest black, and so superb levels of detail are achieved on screen. IS this television something that you should get? Well, continue below as we are going to tell you some of the features of this television…

This 42 inch screen is unusual for plasma screens in that it offers full HD resolution, with 1,080 moving picture resolution lines. Together with the 600Hz intelligent frame creation, even fast moving images and Blu-ray can be viewed without judder.

Some features of the TV are familiar to Panasonic customers, such as the integrated Freesat tuner, which is ideal for those with a satellite dish, and removes the need for an external box. The impressive Viera range of functions are also present. For example, Viera CAST allows access to the internet through the TV, and provides Eurosport and YouTube video viewing, Google’s digital image viewer Picasa, as well as news and weather information.

Viera Link allows AV devices to be connected and controlled using just your TV remote control, and Viera Tools provides a simple user interface so you can manage all your media devices and access the internet. There are four HDMI inputs, as well as inputs for S-Video, composite video, component video, PCs and audio, and 21-pin input and output for Q-link.

Viera Image Viewer, which allows you to view digital images and videos by plugging your memory card into the SD card slot can play DivX files, as well as JPEG and AVCHD formats. And it allows you to set up slideshows, providing a selection of display effects and background music. Q-link triggers a connected recording device at a preset time, so you won’t miss your favorite show.

For home networking, the DLNA allows you to stream DivX, JPEG and MPEG2 files from any PC or hard drive anywhere in your house, direct to the TV.

With the NeoPDP technology, and Viera Link, Panasonic have continued to improve on their sound environmental policies. Viera Link will automatically shut down any unused connected AV devices, and the NeoPDP display not only reduces power consumption compared to other plasma screens, but also automatically adjusts the screen brightness depending on the surrounding levels, to further reduce energy requirements.

As far as the in built speakers go, as with all such speakers, if you really want cinema quality sound, external speakers are necessary. However, the audio quality is surprisingly high, and adequate for normal TV viewing. Now available for under 800 pounds, the Panasonic TX-P42G20 represents a great quality product, and is certainly good value for money.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is the first plasma television of its kind you are able to get in the United Kingdom. It boasts a NeoPDP screen which about doubles the lumens per watt used on every plasma dot. Putting it another way, the TX-P42G20 HDTV displays the same amount of brightness all while using about half the power compared to its predecessors.

This means that it should not have problems getting brightness levels that are normally reserved for LCD televisions. Further aided by an onboard Freesat tuner and 600Hz Drive IFC Pro, the TX-P42G20’s quality picture stands just as tall as other higher rated flat screen TVs that are out already.

It does not have the thin chassis layout that is understandably left for their much more expensive lined, but it is not bulky at all, it has a really thin glossy black framing bezel for the plasma screen. It also has a convex silver colored trim separating its logo from the curved bottom, and it sits on a shiny oval-shaped pedestal stand though it does not swivel.

Looking at the rear of the TV you will see that this is a high quality TV, there are multiple cooling fans that make no noises that will be a problem sitting at a normal viewing distance to the TV. There aren’t any lifting locations like on other Panasonic TVs.

The TX-P42G20’s high quality speakers will blow out really loud volume and punchy bass all without distorting, but it falls short as you could expect in the area audio resolution and stereo sound due to the speakers are hidden and pointing down to the floor.

Unless you are one of the few unlucky folks who are severely susceptible seeing phosphor trails on a plasma TVs, then high-def game systems on it will be thrilling thanks to the nice contrast ratio, rich colors, great detail, and virtually no lag time between frames.

Measurements shoe the input lag times with game mode running at around 21ms faster than Samsungs F96 LCD television. Even when Game Mode was not turned on, it was in the ballpark right with the F96 wither or not the IFC was on or not.

This is Panasonic’s first try at getting to the top with great plasma TVs, its black quality has gotten so much better its to the point of high end lcd TVs, they are still behind pioneer in terms of correct color reproduction and standard-def video.either way.

If you wont look over Panasonic for leaving out controls for white balance and the TVs lower quality SD deinterlacing which is fixable by using a nice quality input source do it for you, it is an excellent value to cost thanks to its nice inky blacks, having great shadow details, nice natural colors, superb clarity of motion, hardly any input lag, and the onboard Freesat tuner, along with a wide viewing angle, and low power thirst, this is a nice television. The remote control that comes with it has large and clearly labeled buttons that give you nice touch feedback.

Panasonic is a name that you can trust when it comes to all lines of televisions. In recent years they have turned their attentions to the burgeoning world of flat screen televisions and have really made their mark in the industry. They offer flat screen televisions for anyone’s taste and budget. After all, some people don’t want the amazing picture quality that Panasonic can offer and really just want a larger television. Therefore Panasonic gives it to them. However, if you are looking for an amazing viewing experience, you might want to check out the Panasonic TX-P42G20 and all that is has to offer. Learn more below…

Even when it is turned off, this Panasonic TX-P42G20 is nice to look at. The entire front of the television is covered with a single pane of glass. At first, this might not like seem like much of an innovation until you think that most televisions have a glass pane set inside a black plastic box. This Panasonic redefines what a television should look like.

Combine that with silver accents and a base and you have one fine looking piece of furniture. To top that off, the television is quite thin, only four inches at its widest point at the bottom. It can fit practically anywhere and still look good.

There are a lot of great practical features on this Panasonic TX-P42G20 as well. First of all, there are a plethora of input ports. You can plug in no less than four HDMI devices such as your HD cable box or your Blu-Ray disc player. There are also standard inputs for your old DVD player or even a VCR you might have laying around.

There is an SD memory card port on the side for you to easily display your pictures as well as a jack for the internet and a place to plug in your gaming console.

Because there is an internet jack, you might as well use it. On your Panasonic TX-P42G20 television you can now get live internet updates on weather, sports, and news with just the click of a button.

You can even access YouTube and Picasa for viewing videos and pictures online. Panasonic promises that more television internet features are in the works. Especially since the remote makes it very easy to operate the internet function, these are welcome additions.

The picture on the Panasonic can’t be beat. For a plasma screen, you are getting little to no distortion or shadowing at a normal viewing distance, and even from a long way away or from steep angles you should still get a good picture. That is because Panasonic knows that the color saturation and contrast that makes the best picture. Clarity is important as well, but not as important to the casual viewer or gamer. You also have the option to adjust your picture with a single click to preset options such as THX or gaming. The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is truly a work of television art.

Panasonic has improved on their plasma screen TVs once again. The Panasonic TXP42G20 is Panasonics latest offering in plasma screen TVs. This model offers more than any model in the past and looks great too. From Freesat programming to HD ready abilities and much more this Television is amazing. If you are in the market for a new plasma screen Television, you may want to check this model out.

Advanced G20 Series Features – Many HDTVs today have a hard time maintaining clear and sharp images where there are fast moving scenes. Just imagine the headache you may end up with when watching sports or action flicks. The Panasonic TXP42G20, however, utilizes the Intelligent Frame Creation to deal with such problem. It’s a cutting-edge image analysis technology which examines scenes and introduces new frames where necessary. This helps eliminate judders and motion blurs.

The edges of the television are blended out with silver trim. The base also has a silver sheen to it. Additionally, the television is no more than four inches thick at its widest point. Whether on a table or on the wall, it is an attractive addition to your home.

The 24p Playback feature lets you have a true cinema experience at home. Such Panasonic technology allows for movie playback with the same frame rate during filming: 24 per second.

Because there are so many different options available, you should be able to keep most elements permanently installed in your television.

The VIERA Image Viewer lets you display JPEG files in HD quality. The Panasonic TXP42G20 comes integrated with its own memory card reader. Insert an SD card containing your photos, and start amazing everyone. Background music and display effects may be added during the slideshow. Videos in AVCHD formatting may also be played. If you have a LUMIX digital camera, it can be directly linked to the TX-P42G20 via an HDMI cable.

Energy Saving Features – The Panasonic TXP42G20 incorporates some features that enable you to economize on energy consumption. The company knows the value of using our resources wisely. The off timer feature, as opposed to a sleep timer, completely shuts down the TV. This happens after a specified amount of time, so no electricity is wasted.

The 24p Playback feature uses a rate of 24 frames per second when playing movies. That’s the same frame rate employed by projectors in movie houses. So you get the same thrill as in a cinema, but right in the privacy of your home. To enhance that thrill, the Panasonic Panasonic TXP42G20 comes integrated with the V-Audio Surround.

When the TV is not in use, all the other audio video devices linked to it are put in standby mode. This is possible by means of the Eco Link feature. Now, no unwanted energy consumption happens, as long as you remember to turn off the Panasonic TXP42G20. When one of the interconnected audio video devices is started, everything else is automatically turned on from standby mode.

To sum up, the Panasonic TXP42G20 has the requisite bells and whistles one comes to expect from a Panasonic flat screen television. The strength of the model is simply its picture quality, which at the end of the day is most important factor. The remaining qualities are relatively standard when compared to other industry competitors.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20B is one of the new sets put out by the company to combat the high energy costs of the older sets. Designed to use less energy, it also has be modified to give a better picture as well. This is one of the best performing plasma sets in its class.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20B set offers nothing innovative in its looks; it is the same sleek, black one currently in vogue with all the TVs at the moment. This one does offer a Viera tough panel, making the screen stronger then others, which is good if you have children in the home. It can be used with the pedestal it comes with, or you can mount it on the wall.

Rich Black Reproduction – Consumers often complain about the inability of some HDTVs to display black shades correctly. More often than not, blacks end up as grays. This is especially evident on some LCD panels with very limited viewing angles.

Sometimes, with plasma TVs, you will notice that reds and greens are not always balanced, and brightness controls can alter that even more. This is not the case with the Panasonic TX-P42G20B. Colours, on either end of the spectrum, are portrayed vividly to give you the highest quality picture.

HDMI is today’s standard interface for transmitting high-definition data without loss in quality. You can easily create a network of AV devices to work with the Panasonic TX-P42G20B via HDMI. Through the VIERA Link feature, you can operate all of them using a single remote – the VIERA TV’s remote controller. You no longer have to be confused with a mix-up of multiple remotes in your living room.

Multiple SD card slots come standard on this Panasonic TX-P42G20B model as well! These SD card slots make it amazingly simple to transfer your digital pictures and videos onto the TV screen.

Features for Efficient Energy Use – These days, it’s really important to conserve our resources, including electricity. And this is something Panasonic understands. That is why it has incorporated features that help in saving electricity usage. For instance, the off timer shuts down the Panasonic TX-P42G20B TV after a specified length of time.

User-friendly widgets enable you to access a variety of contents from the world wide web. Such include photos, video clips, news reports, weather information and other useful online finds. Now you can go straight online after watching a movie.

When the Panasonic TX-P42G20B is not in use, everything else that’s linked to it will be put on stand-by mode. When playback on one AV device is started, all the others will automatically switch to on from stand-by mode.

A LUMIX digital camera’s HDMI connectivity further enhances this feature. If you got a recent LUMIX digital camera model, you can connect it directly to the Panasonic TX-P42G20B. Then you can playback the photos and videos contained therein in HD quality. Also, through the VIERA Image Viewer, you can share JPEG and AVCHD files stored on an SD card.

After taking a look at the new Panasonic TX-P42G20, it is evident the product meets its desired goal of providing solid picture quality at a fairly reasonable price. This plasma screen with 1080p resolution has a black panel that weighs about thirty five kilograms with stand included. The panel is also capable of swiveling up to ten degrees in either horizontal direction.

This Television is HD ready, comes with FreeSat, and much, much more. This may be that plasma screen television you have been looking for.

Web Surfing with VIERA Cast – Right after watching TV, there’s no need to get off the couch to surf the net. Because of the VIERA Cast feature of the Panasonic TX-P42G20, now you can go online using your television. Access a wide variety of web content using widgets – small and user-friendly applications.

However, the Real Black Drive system of the Panasonic TX-P42G20 helps get rid of that. This innovation is an advanced method of displaying rich blacks. It works even in movie scenes where it’s practically tricky to maintain a proper balancing of light and dark shades. This plasma Television comes with a 40,000:1 contrast ratio – and this is quite impressive enough. But turning on the dynamic mode amplifies this to an unbelievable 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Maintaining Razor-Sharp Images – Try watching sports or action movies with a plasma TV that doesn’t come with an exceptional imaging technology. Most likely, you’ll end up with a splitting headache. This is because judders and motion blurs abound, especially where there are rapidly moving images.

If you were reading carefully, you will see that you can plug your Panasonic TX-P42G20 television into your home’s internet router. This is because Panasonic hosts an internet television technology that is beginning to make its way into more and more high end televisions.

True Cinema Experience at Home – On weekends when you have no work, you just want to stay at home and enjoy some movies. These days, you don’t necessarily have to step foot in a cinema to have a cinematic experience. The TX-P42G20 comes with a feature that lets you have your own silver screen in your living room.

The Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20 comes with 3 HDMI ports to help you to easily and quickly connect you Blu-Ray device or other device. Smart

When the TX-P42G20 is not in use, everything else that’s linked to it will be put on stand-by mode. When playback on one AV device is started, all the others will automatically switch to on from stand-by mode.

Finally, there’s also the Eco Mode. This feature of the Panasonic TX-P42G20 activates a light sensor inbuilt on the TV. It then calculates the amount of available light in the room. If there’s little light in the room, the display’s brightness will be dimmed. This, therefore, allows for minimized energy consumption. But the quality of the HD images is not compromised in the process.

Panasonic has outdone themselves, over the past year, with the number of televisions they have released. The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is one of their higher-end releases this year. This model offers features and extras that many other TVs do not, and it incorporates Panasonic’s NeoPDP Panel. So, with this one TV, you get functionality, design, and even get to save a bit of money with its eco-friendly, power saving technology.

This screen offers full HD capability with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is one of the first plasmas to offer this functionality without a loss in quality or integrity. It is far from obtrusive and would fit nicely in just about any setting. Even the glossy black surrounding gives it a touch of elegance.

Being a high-end television, most would think that it would be a bit harder to set up than other television sets. This is not the case with the TX-P42G20, however. In fact, this TV is almost as easy as plugging it in and sitting down. The combination of an easy to use remote and user interface, you will be up and running in no time at all. And, you won’t even need any outside help to do it.

LCD fans have complained about the coloring on plasma TVs. They are kind of known for coloring issues, mainly that a lot of plasma TVs favors red or green, but not both. The TX-P42G20; however, shows a perfect balance of all colors without a loss of quality.

This being said, some have questioned the black value. However, Panasonic has outdone themselves, yet again. Even with a true balance between the colors, there is no loss in the true black that plasma TVs are known for. Therefore, every scene, dark or bright, becomes even more realistic on the TX-P42G20.

One of the greatest advantages, to this model, is the 600Hz sub-field. This sub-field allows for some of the quickest processing, of frames, of any TV on the market today. Even Sony has not gotten this far; the farthest they have gotten is 200Hz. Not bad, but definitely not up to par with Panasonic.

So, you already know about the technology that you get with the TX-P42G20, but you don’t know about the connectivity options you will have. You will have access to 4-HDMI inputs, 1-Composite and 1-S-Video input, 3-Component Video inputs, a LAN port, and a few other ports. If you are looking for a basic TV, you have found it. If you are looking for that multimedia foundation, here it is.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 is a high-range television at a decent price of less than 2k. Not only will it not hit your pocket book, too hard, but it will save you in the overall power consumption that your household is used to (if you’re replacing a TV, that is). The combination of the eco-friendly NeoPDP Panel, other technologies, and connectivity ports gives consumers a TV they can count on for years to come.

The Panasonic TXP42G20, also known as the Panasonic TX-P42G20, the Panasonic TXP42G20B and the Panasonic TX-P42G20B, has been shown to be one of the best sets you can by for the mid range class of televisions on the market. One of the new offerings from the company, it has been designed to be more energy efficient then other models available at the moment.

The Panasonic TXP42G20 offers nothing innovated in its looks; it is the same sleek, black one currently in vogue with all the TVs at the moment. This one does offer a Viera tough panel, making the screen stronger then others, which is good if you have children in the home. It can be used with the pedestal it comes with, or you can mount it on the wall.

It is a HD set, and you can view it in 1080p. It has 3 HDMI jacks, which allows you to have ample room to hook up other electronics. You can also use the PC/VGA audio and video inputs to connect your computer to it, allowing you to watch content directly on the Panasonic TXP42G20, and the free sat gives you the choice of hundreds of TV and radio channels to choose from. It also incorporates other Panasonic electronics with the remote, giving you a universal one to control your entertainment.

The new Viera NeoPDP technology used in the Panasonic TXP42G20 helps to make the blacks deeper and moiré true to life. The whites are also blindingly bright, and the color spectrum shows up vivid and realistic. This tech also helps to make movies remain clear and high actions scenes are not spoilt by blurring. The only drawback in this tech is some DVDs, especially on diagonals, show some deterioration of quality, but a good player can compensate for it.

The Sub Field Drive with Intelligent Frame Creation Pro uses a 600 MHz processor to digitally render the images and replace them back on the screen to give you the sharpest picture possible. The picture is very clear and sharp, and looking at it will show you things you missed on other sets. Memory cards can also be used on the Panasonic TXP42G20, which can allow you to use this technology to view your own videos and pictures with the same HD quality the shows are on.

Panasonic makes an effort to go green with this Panasonic TXP42G20 set. Not only have they reduced the amount of energy it takes to run the set, but they also have made an effort to extend the life of the back light. It is set for 100,000 hours, or about 35 years to help keep it out of the landfills.

Like many sets of this type, the sound is average at best. The VAudio surround sound is supposed to take the dimensions of the room into consideration, and project a fantastic sound, but you will find that in order to get a true home theater, you will need to have an external sound system in place. It will do the job, but it will not be as good as another system.

The Panasonic TXP42G20 is a top performer of this class. It is plasma, and will not produce as good a picture in bright areas, but it can be viewed from more then just straight on. Overall, it is a very good set for the value.
